BioMarin Reflection (Across the Y-Axis)
At BioMarin, researchers and scientists fold new proteins as solutions to Lysosomal Storage Disorders. They grow cells in bioreactors in order to test their proteins, as a part of the biotech drug-creation pipeline. Laminar flow hoods are used to perform experiments in sterile environments so as not to disrupt the cells. CHO (short for Chinese Hamster Ovaries) cells are used as the basis for the clinical and research trials. HPLC is used for analyzing the cells. I liked seeing all the machinery, and I would like to learn more about the process to potentially make a Minecraft mod about Biotech.
